ساندویچ فروش و پسرش
مردی در کنار جاده، دکه ای درست کرده بود و در آن ساندویچ می فروخت. چون گوشش سنگین بود، رادیو نداشت. چشمش هم ضعیف بود، بنابراین روزنامه هم نمی خواند. او تابلویی بالای سر خود گذاشته بود و محاسن ساندویچ های خود را شرح داده بود. خودش هم کنار دکه اش می ایستاد و مردم را به خریدن ساندویچ تشویق می کرد و مردم هم می خریدند.
کارش بالا گرفت بنابراین کارش را وسعت بخشید به طوری که وقتی پسرش از مدرسه بر می گشت به او کمک می کرد. سپس کم کم وضع عوض شد. پسرش گفت: «پدر جان، مگر به اخبار رادیو گوش نداده ای؟ اگر وضع پولی کشور به همین منوال ادامه پیدا کند کار همه خراب خواهد شد و شاید یک کسادی عمومی به وجود آید. باید خودت را برای این کسادی آماده کنی.»
پدر با خود فکر کرد هر چه باشد پسرش به مدرسه رفته و به اخبار رادیو گوش می دهد و روزنامه هم می خواند، پس حتماً آنچه می گوید صحیح است. بنابراین کمتر از گذشته، نان و گوشت سفارش می داد و تابلوی خود را هم پایین آورد و دیگر در کنار دکه خود نمی ایستاد و مردم را به خرید ساندویچ دعوت نمی کرد. فروش او ناگهان شدیداً کاهش یافت.
او سپس رو به فرزند خود کرد و گفت: «پسر جان حق با توست. کسادی عمومی شروع شده است.»


آنتونی رابینز یک جمله بسیار خوب در این باره دارد که جالب است بدانید: «اندیشه های خود را شکل بخشید وگرنه دیگران اندیشه های شما را شکل می دهند. خواسته های خود را عملی سازید وگرنه دیگران برای شما برنامه ریزی می کنند.»
در واقع آن پدر داشت بهترین راه برای کاسبی را انجام می داد اما به خاطر افکار پسرش، تصمیمش رو عوض کرد و افکار پسر آنقدر روی او تأثیر گذاشت که فراموش کرد که خودش دارد باعث ورشکستگی اش می شود و تلقین بحران مالی کشور، باعث شد که زندگی او عوض شود.
قبل از اینکه دیگران برای ما تصمیماتی بگیرند که بعد ما را پشیمان کند، کمی فکر کنیم و راه درست را انتخاب کنیم و با انتخاب یک هدف درست از زندگی لذت ببریم، چون زندگی مال ماست.
